Some of Anthony DelVecchio’s earliest memories weren’t made in a backyard. They were made in the woods. At just four years old, he began following two of his greatest mentors—his father and his uncle—through the Hudson River Valley and Catskill Mountains of New York. It was there that he learned hunting was about far more than harvesting game. It was about patience, preparation, respect for the outdoors, and time spent with family. By 14, Anthony had earned his hunting license and was hunting with both bow and firearm. One of his most meaningful early memories came while sitting beneath his father’s tree stand, when his father handed him the rifle he used to harvest his first deer—a big doe Anthony proudly brought straight to his grandmother’s house to show her.

Even as a kid, Anthony wasn’t content to simply hunt—he wanted to understand every part of it. Long before today’s endless selection of hunting products and technology, he was building his own tree stands, experimenting with homemade deer scents and lures, creating natural cover sprays from materials he gathered in the woods, and developing his own scent-control methods using military-grade charcoal suits. He was even filming his hunts back when doing so meant hauling a full-size video camera into the woods. More than four decades later, that same curiosity, resourcefulness, and constant drive to improve still define the way Anthony hunts.

Today, Anthony lives the outdoors year-round, spending countless hours in the Northwest Hills of Connecticut scouting new properties, checking trail cameras, searching for sheds, glassing fields, hanging and maintaining tree stands, and preparing long before opening day. That same commitment carries into every aspect of his life. A former serviceman, retired law enforcement officer, firefighter, and EMT, Anthony continues to train every day through strength training, running, stair climbing, and daily bow practice. He believes improvement comes from consistency (REPS) —the work and preparation that happen when no one is watching. That relentless commitment became the foundation of DelVecchio Outdoors and the philosophy he lives by: Every rep counts. Every shot matters.

But Anthony’s life is about more than hunting. His Christian faith, family, sobriety, service, and commitment to living a clean, purpose-driven life guide everything he does. Those same principles shape the way he approaches the outdoors—with patience, resilience, responsibility, and respect for the land and wildlife. Today, one of Anthony’s greatest passions is passing more than 40 years of hard-earned knowledge on to his children. He’s teaching them not only how to hunt, shoot, scout, and understand the woods, but also the values behind those skills: respect for God’s creation, stewardship of the land, discipline, hard work, and appreciation for traditions passed from one generation to the next.

DelVecchio Outdoors grew from Anthony's desire to take that lifetime of experience and share it with others. His mission isn't simply to showcase successful hunts—it's to share what happens before them: the preparation, mistakes, setbacks, lessons, daily reps, and countless unseen hours that make those moments possible. Through faith, family, fitness, and hunting, Anthony hopes to help the next generation become better hunters, better stewards of the land, and stronger people along the way. Because for Anthony, hunting isn't something he does. It's who he is.
